The Most Thrilling Disney World Theme Park?

During one of our ‘Going To Orlando’ Podcast shows, we talked about which Disney World Theme Park is the most thrilling. We had a split in opinion and in this article we’ll explore this in more detail.

What are the most thrilling rides at Disney World?

  • Magic Kingdom: Tron Lightcycle / Run, Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain.
  • EPCOT: Test Track, Mission Space and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
  • Animal Kingdom: Expedition Everest and Flight of Passage.
  • Hollywood Studios: Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror.

Which Park is the most thrilling?

This is a difficult question and mostly its down to personal taste. Disney World have done a great job at spreading the most thrilling rides across all four Theme Parks which means for a truly thrilling experience, you have to visit them all. We will however talk you through the most thrilling rides at each park and then you can decide!

Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom is the park that everyone visualises when they start thinking about Disney World, probably because its the one with the big castle. I would also say that Magic Kingdom is the park I associate most with families. The reason for that is because Magic Kingdom is home to some family classic rides including Dumbo, It’s a Small World and Peter Pan’s Flight. With the opening on Tron Lightcycle / Run however, Magic Kingdom is starting to become more appealing to thrill seekers. In addition to Tron, the park is home to Space mountain and Thunder Mountain which are both thrill staples.

EPCOT

EPCOT is my favourite park at Disney World. While Disney has become obsessed with modernising the park, I love the retro vibe. The park is so much more than rides and almost two parks in one. You can spend your morning experiencing both family and thrilling rides. For thrill seekers the park offers Test Track which whizzes riders up to 65mph. The newest thrill ride at EPCOT is the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind which offers a stomach churning spinning ride throughout the galaxy.

Animal Kingdom

The Animal Kingdom is home to what many consider to be the best Roller Coaster at Disney World. While Expedition Everest isn’t the most thrilling ride you’ll find in Orlando or at Disney World, the ride offers an outstanding experience culminating in a backwards drop and being ejected from the side of a mountain.

Hollywood Studios

Tower of Terror is one of the most iconic thrill rides at Hollywood Studios. Stepping into the Twilight Zone, you’ll find yourself launched upwards and downwards strapped into an out of control elevator. Hollywood Studios is also home to arguably the most thrilling ride across Disney World, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Hosted by Aerosmith you’ll be invited on board a stretch limo, launched from 0 to 57mph in less than 3 seconds and taken on an upside down adventure.

Which Disney World park is right for me?

If you are visiting Disney World as a family, you’ll most likely find something for everyone in each park but some will stand out from others. For the classic Disney experience, Magic Kingdom is a must. For those looking for a more thrilling experience, perhaps Hollywood Studios is the most thrilling Disney World Theme Park and would be your best choice. If you have the time and the budget, i’d suggest you still visit them all!
